I just started quilting in January, 2017. I don't know why, but I needed to do it. It's fast become an obsession, to say the least. I love trying new things, making my own patterns, and learning as I go. I've started to sell a few of my favorite things on my Etsy shop, District Coverup.
My English Mastiff is a big girl, and some people think she looks intimidating walking down the sidewalks of DC. She's harmless, but 120 lbs of dog can scare some folks, no doubt.
Naturally I decided the best solution would be a ladybug collar. I wanted to show that she was gentle and friendly. Unable to find one online, I made it. The results of the experiment are still coming in, but in the meantime I loved making a custom collar.
Daphne gets loads of compliments about her fashionable accessory, so I'm planning on making some more to sell on Etsy soon. Watch my shop, District Coverup, and stay tuned!
Eager to practice my zipper skills, I started sewing lined bags and totes. Like all my sewing projects, this one was quite addictive. I've made several different bags in all shapes and sizes, all featuring fun linings inside.
Around the house I've been doing several upholstery and slipcover projects, from upgrading some IKEA furniture to making my own king sized upholstered bed with headboard. Follow me on Instagram to see what I'm up to next.
