Create a modern quilt based on a centuries-old geometric design from the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain! A continuous pattern emerges from a simple tessellated shape repeated in different orientations. A block-based quilt pattern with gentle interior curves, suitable for an intermediate quilter or an ambitious beginner.
This pattern provides templates for 4” and 9” finished block sizes. The smaller blocks are great for using pre-cut jelly roll strips (2 ½”), while the larger blocks ease you into sewing curves. Fabric requirements are given for common quilt sizes (baby, throw, twin, full/queen, and king. Coloring sheets help you plan and stay organized from start to finish.
Tighe Flanagan is a textile artist based in Washington, DC. He has lived, studied and worked extensively in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.
